Verification and AML
Every player is verified before any funds move, and we continue to monitor accounts afterwards. This page sets out what we check, which documents we request, and the reasons.
A. Why we verify
Local law must allow online gambling where you live before we can accept you. Verification lets us meet Canadian requirements on age, identity checks and money laundering.
These checks protect you too. They stop fraud and account takeover, keep minors out, and make sure winnings reach you and nobody else. Identity and location are checked before your first deposit.
B. Ongoing monitoring
Verification continues after registration. Our systems monitor deposits, withdrawals and betting patterns on every account. Activity we may look into includes:
- cashing out soon after depositing, with little real play in between
- several accounts tied to one individual, device or payment method
- payments from cards or wallets that belong to someone else
- a sudden jump in deposit size or frequency
A flag does not mean you did anything wrong. We may pause a withdrawal while we look, and we will email you if we need anything.
C. Source of funds
If your account activity keeps rising, we may request documents showing where your funds originate. Common ones: payslips, bank statements, tax returns, business records or proof of a sale, such as property. We only request what explains your account activity.
D. Identity and age checks
At sign-up, we record the address you live at, your full legal name as printed on your ID, and your birth date. Trusted identity verification services check these details. When the result is inconclusive, we ask for documents:
- Photo ID: a passport or a driver's licence, current, with every corner visible and the text readable
- Address: your most recent utility bill, or a bank statement dated recently, that displays your home address alongside your full name
- Payment ownership: Visa or Mastercard: a photo showing the card's front, middle digits hidden; PayPal, MuchBetter, Payz (ecoPayz) or Neteller: a screenshot of your account page that displays your name; Interac e-Transfer, iDebit or Bank Wire / Transfer: a bank statement naming the account holder
Every payment method you add must be registered to you. Send documents by email or upload them in your account.
E. Record keeping and reporting
We store verification files and transaction records securely for the period Canadian law requires. Our Privacy Policy explains how we protect them.
Any transaction that is large or suspicious is reported to the appropriate Canadian authorities when the law calls for it. Sometimes legal rules mean we cannot say that a report has been filed.
F. PEP checks and sanctions screening
Each account goes through PEP (politically exposed person) and sanctions list screening when it is opened, then again at regular intervals. The checks extend to a PEP's relatives and close associates.
If a player matches a PEP, we apply enhanced checks, which may involve questions about source of wealth. We do not allow anyone named on a sanctions list to hold an account.
G. When a check fails
Documents may be missing, unreadable, altered, or may not match your account. In that case:
- deposits, play and withdrawals are paused
- we email you to say what is missing or wrong
- if we uncover fraud or a false identity, the account is shut down and any bonus and winnings linked to the breach are voided
Any balance left on a closed account is handled as Canadian law and our Terms of Use require.
